I found this article on CNN.com about Dell going after Apple's iPad.
Currently Dell is working on a touch enabled tablet PC. As are many companies since the Apple iPad went public.
This is how new technologies are born. In the spirit of competition. If you think about where we were 5 years ago and then think about how we got from there to here you will find that most technological advances were made by one company trying to out do another.

Gmail Graduations and Funerals
I found this article on CNN.com about the constant changes in the gmail application.
Gmail has always been on the leading edge of internet mail technology since its release in June 2008 and even its beta release in 2006.
Gmail has always done well by instead of thinking of a program researching if customers will like it and then either writing it or not writing it. They think of a program write it make it available for use and let the customers decide which programs they should keep (Graduate) or kill.

Facebook Patent
I found this article on CNN.com about Facebook Patenting their news feed technology.
Basically the patent application for the news feed section of Facebook was approved. And some of the other social media websites have to watch how similar their sites are to Facebook.com.
I find it somewhat scary that you can get a patent on something that several companies already use. I agree that there should be patents however companies who suffer from being the second one in line to the patent office should be grandfathered in.

Steve "Sneaky" Jobs
I found this story on CNN.com about Steve Jobs and the sneaky misleading statements that he makes.
I am not very surprised to hear this as Apple has always been very secretive about their projects. They have somehow managed to get away with very few leaks which is very very uncommon. E.G. Microsoft : every operating system that Microsoft has ever released has been leaked usually a few months before they even tell anyone they are working on it!
Steve Jobs is a Genius! He has always been on the leading edge of technology and he is a brilliant business man.

In the beggining!
The beggining to our story starts in High school sophmore year we spent a week in Florida on a school trip and the heat began to rise. We each had crushes on the other but never really told each other. Finally we graduated in 2001 and didn't really see each other for about 10 years. I had just returned from my tour to Afghanistan and I was living in Kentucky with some friends when I recieved a Facebook request from her wanting to be friends. I was extremely excited, I approved it right away and sent her a message asking how she'd been and what she had been up to. I was very excited to recieve a message back from her. over the next few weeks we talked quite a bit via text and phone and Facebook. One weekend I was headed home for a visit and I decided to ask her to go to the Lazy P Ranch for the weekend but she had other plans in mind. She has a group of friends that go out to eat 1 night a month (they call themselves dinner club). We decided to go to the dinner instead of the Ranch And this was our first date July 25th 2009 I fell head over heals in love with her that night the feelings of old from our high school days resurfaced for both of us. Since then we have only grown closer. I am reminded of a Brad Paisley song called Then. "What I can't say is how I'm ever gonna love you more, But I've said that before. And now you're my whole life now you're my whole world I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl Like a river meets the sea, stronger than it's ever been. We've come so far since that day And I thought I loved you then"
She said yes!
Today I will be blogging about recent events in my life!
In December I had began thinking about proposing to the woman I love whom I have been dating since July of 2009. We were heading to Ft Worth for the NCHA cutting horse Futurity. The night before we left her mother approached me and offered me her mother's Nicole's grandmothers wedding ring, it was a beautiful ring unfortunatly I hadn't yet received permission from her father to ask her. So I put the idea into the back of my head and immediatly began thinking of ideas of how to ask her. But first I still had to ask her father's permission. So we went to lunch one Saturday afternoon and after we finished eating I asked him he said yes on one condition, I had to take the sheep with me when i took her away from home (there is a whole other story there)! Finally I had permission, but how to ask her that was a whole other problem all together. While I thought about it i made up a story about being scared to ask her father because I was "affraid he would ask me how I would take care of his daughter without a job". And I managed to maintain that story up until the moment I proposed to her! So after many ideas one finally stuck with me. The Friday before Valentines day I had sent flowers to Nicole at work which I had told her I wouldn't do because we had already purchased a antique refrigerator as a V-day present to each other. When the flowers arrived she was called to the front of the building to get them, before she left her desk she sent me a G-talk message telling me I was in trouble. By the time that day had come everyone at Leggett and Platt had heard that it was going to happen. While she was headed up to the front one of her co-workers snuck me in to her cubicle. Another one of her co-workers stood in the hallway and announced very loudly that her flowers were very beautiful so that I would know she was coming. Finally the moment was upon me she walked around the corner to find me down on one knee waiting for her. I asked and she just stared at me... and finally it dawned on her duhh speak!! She squeaked out a little yes and the rest as they say is history!!!

Their Watching You!!!
I found this article on foxnews.com about the FBI tracking our movment using our cell phones.
It seems strange to think that someone knws where you are all the time. But thats the price you pay to live in the world of technology in which we live.
It is definatly scary to think that at any point and time someone kows where you are and using that information they can pull up satellite footage and see what you are doing.
So always remember, They are watching you!!

I wondered how long it would take.
I found this article on CNN.com about Facebook pulling profiles create by prisoners.
With all of the creapy people in the world today I have wondered how long it would take before a story like this came around.
Unfortunatly Facebook has done what they can to "Prevent fake profiles" but there is really no way for them to actually know what profiles are fake and which ones arent with the internet as wide open as it is today a person can have several hundred FREE e-mail address. All it takes to sign up for Facebook is an e-mail address and you can enter whatever fake information you want and create an account.
You cant always have the best of both worlds if you want your site to be able to open a Facebook profile instantly it has to be left open to false information.

iPad Autopsy
I found this article on CNN.com about the cost vs. retail price of the iPad.
I read this article and was shocked at how cheap Apple could produce this item. And that they were charging so much for it.
Upon further examination of the cost break down I found that they had not accounted for labor. I also noticed that they didnt mention that while it costs 240.00 to build them the first probably cost somewhere around 2 million to design and build.
That cost of the initial prototype has to be spread out over whatever their projected sales will be so they can recover their cost.

Catch em young!
I found this article on foxnews.com. It is about a boy who at 13 is being looked at as a future football player for USC.
I was shocked mostly to learn that he was over 6 feet tall at the age of 13. Not to mention he is already looking at attending USC.
"I've never seen anyone at his age do what he's been able to do." said his personal coach Steve Clarkson.
It is amazing to see someone so young in national news.
