Google TV

I found this article on CNN.com about Google creating an app TV.
Google android has an app that television manufacturers or interested in that might bring Internet to your television.

I think it is great that Google is trying to lead the charge in tech right now. For years Apple has been the leader in technology and now they have some friendly competition. Which actually does several things for the end users. 1 it causes the rate in which new technology is developed to increase substantially. 2 it causes the price of that technology to decrease substantially. We saw this with Video card manufacturers for years NVIDIA lead the charge on video card technology with no real competition and their prices reflected that. When AMD bought out ATI and began trying to build "quality" competative cards NVIDIA was forced to drop prices. however NVIDIA is still the most reliable Video card on the market.

Scandal

I have been waiting to hear more about the lost iPhone. Well its finally here. The police have interviewed the person who sold it to Gizmodo but they are not charging him with anything yet. I guess we will have to keep waiting to see if anything else unfolds.

Who didnt see this coming? Seriously who didnt see them trying to charge this guy with theft. let me propose thisquestion to you. If I loose my phone and someone finds it what happens to that person if they get caught? The answer is nothing. As a matter of fact if i asked the police to find it they would basically tell me to "Pound Sand". So to Apple I love your products but let it go!

My Angel

So on July 25th 2009 I went on a date that even though I didnt know it at the time I was with the love of my life. However at the time I did have this feeling, I had feelings that I hadnt ever felt before. I started thinking, is she the one? could this really be it? And now I am sure. The woman I am going to marry is the love of my life, she is my best friend. I cannot wait to start spending the rest of our lives together. Yesterday I finally signed the contract on the house that we will live in! What an amazing feeling this is.

We can not wait to start the few small remodeling processes we have planned and to start building fences and growing a garden and all of the fun things that neither one of us have ever been able to do. We have a house and we get to make it our home. It is a beautiful berm house with an in-ground pool and a hottub and a very nice deck. It has a very nice garage and a barn and 20 acres for our horses and sheep.

porn in technology

I found this articl on CNN.com abouthow the porn industry is always the first to adopt a new technology.

It is interesting but if you think about it i bet the porn industry is one of the most wealthy in the world Im not a fan myself but it is very widely advertised. Alot of new technology platforms areengineered by the porn industry as new ways for them to reach their customers then someone says hey why couldnt we use that for this too?

Skinput

I found this article on CNN.com about a new type of cell phone technology.

Wouldnt it be amazing if you could just touch your skin in different places and get it to do different things on your phone? I think this guy is on the right track but the possibilities for this are endless.

iPhone 4g

I found this article on CNN.com about an Apple employee loosing a prototype iphone 4g in a bar.

It is weird that they would even let him leave the Apple factory with such a device even though it was disguised as a 3Gs. What did they expect all of their technology and software always gets leaked. Its just that this time someone actually had proof of it.

Space!!

I found this article on CNN.com.

President Obama is about to reveal his space plan, this should be interesting since every other plan he has revealed has pretty much aggravated the majority of the population. If you can’t tell I’m not a huge Obama fan. But I didn’t vote for him so I did what I could do about it. Anyways the new space plan will offer a 6 billion dollar increase in budget to NASA over a 6 year period but will also require them to do away with the constellation project and pretty much scrap all of the progress they have made in rockets and shuttles in recent history.

I am not a big fan of the idea of scrapping a project that is responsible for getting the space program where it is today just so they can work just a little bit harder on a project the has no definite timeline. If they scrap this project there will be no US space travel of our own. We will rely on Russia at a cost of 50 million dollars per seat. I think it is great that the old commanders of former missions are coming forward to speak about how they feel about this. And they all seem to pretty much share the same opinion towards it, they don’t want to see us regress. In all honesty every new space technology and travel method wouldn’t be possible without the use of technology from previous versions. It also seems like we would be wasting the 10 billion dollars spent on the previous shuttles that will be being retired. We as a country cannot afford to waste 10 billion dollars. We have gone into debt to be able to spend that money. It would be like me going out and buying a car on credit, not putting insurance on it and setting it on fire. I would be stuck with the bill and no car.

Volcano!!!!

I found this article on foxnews.com

A Volcanic Eruption in Iceland has disrupted air travel throughout the world due to the massive amounts of volcanic ash being shot into the air. All flights in and out of London Heathrow airport have been cancelled due to the fact that the Plume of smoke and ash is drifting over parts of Europe. The Volcano has also caused massive amounts of flooding in the local areas around the volcano because it is melting the ice at a very rapid pace. This is the biggest airline shutdown since 9/11/01. Iceland is a country of 320,000 people and is known for its history of devastating eruptions.

I have to wonder why if Iceland is known for its history of devastating eruptions, why do people still live there? I am a pretty simple guy but I am the kind of person who believes if you know that the area you live in floods every year like clockwork why would you still live there? I can’t imagine how frustrated people must be right now, trying to go on vacation and already took off work but their flight has been cancelled. That would suck. I was almost put in that situation and if it hadn’t been for some really good planning I would have been. While I was deployed we were supposed to be relieved by the 25th ID from Alaska about the time they were gearing up to leave to come replace us a volcano was nearing eruption, fortunately they changed their mission and transferred all of their gear and equipment to anchorage by train and managed to escape just in the nick of time. When their last guy had landed in Afghanistan the volcano blew. When we were told we might have to stay an additional 3 months the moral of our unit went down drastically.

The Little Things!

Over the past few years I have Realized that its the little things in life that we take for granted.
In March of 2008 I deployed to Afghanistan, here I began to realize that little things like indoor plumbing is often taken for granted. During my deployment I began to miss things like being able to use a toilet with running water without having to walk a half a mile, being able to take a shower without having to walk a half a mile, and even being able to take a shower without feeling dirty as soon as you step out from all of the dust blowing around you!

Family, Family is one of the biggest things we take for granted. Being able to hug the ones you love, being able to see their faces and watch them grow. The little things that in every day life you just don't realize you would miss them if they weren't there.

And last but not least, The love of a woman. I think Travis Tritt said it best when he said: "Where would we be without the love of a woman Standing behind her man even when he's wrong The true pure undying love of a woman Makes a man a fool to think he can make it alone"
I had never felt the true pure undying love of a woman until last summer when I met the love of my life. She doesn't know it but I knew i loved her from the moment we made contact again. Thank you Facebook. And I never knew what I was missing.
They say it is better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all, how true is that. I can’t imagine my life without her now. I have made it a goal in my life to be thankful for what I have and never take the small things for granted.

collider

I found this article on CNN.com about a group of scientists that are trying to get beams of energy to collide.

It is strange to think about the fact that these people believe there are alternate dimensions.

I sometimes fell like we waste our money on things just to see if it can be done. This seems rather pointless and you would think that the 10 billion could be better spent elsewhere.

iCade

I found this article on CNN.com about something that started as a joke may very well become a reality!

I have been very excited following the iPad which will finally be released tomorrow April 3rd.

This could very well be an interesting item if it is ever released to manufacturing, A controller pad for the iPhone or iPad would make them extremely Pro.

sex.com

I found this article on MSNBC.com about the recent attempted auction of the website sex.com.

I was shocked to see that the website sold for 14 million dollars in 2006. It's amazing that a name can have so much value. Unfortunately it seems that the value has dropped considerably as it was estimated to be worth about 6 million now.

The item was pulled from the auction so I guess we will never know what its real value is today.

Nation wide broadband

I found this article on CNN.com about a Nation wide broadband network that will allow 90% of americans to have broadband internet access in their homes.

I had heardabout this and am very excited to see where it goes however it will take until 2020 to complete.

I am anxious for us to have the type of internet that europe has.

Computers can listen

I found this article on CNN.com about the man who teaches google's computers to listen.

The computers at google use the things that other people have typed in to predict what you will say next.

It is very interesting to see how technology is advancing all around us. Every day we are further and further along on the quest for true artificial intelligence.

Headless Vikings

I found this article on CNN.com about a mass grave with the bodies of 51 young viking men who had been beheaded in it.

This is very interesting as these men have been burried for about 1000 years. Its interesting to know that they could tell where they were from by their teeth.

"Many of the executed men suffered multiple wounds, inflicted by a sharp-bladed weapon, to the skull, jaw"

Big power in small packages!

I found this article on CNN.com about a group of researchers at MIT that believe they have discovered a new energy source.

Their goal after discovering this phenomenon is to create an energy source that will take up less space and put out more energy and will last up to 10 times longer.

This could completely revolutionize the micro technology field. Either smaller devices with the same use or same size devices that will do more!

iPad Release

I found this article on CNN.com about the ability to pre-order an iPad for the April 3rd release date.

I was very excited to hear that they have finally set a date for the release and have made them available for pre-order.

I am interested to see how the sales go for this item with it available to pre-order we will finally know how well it will sell.

Pentagon shooting.

I found this article on CNN.com about a shooting at the pentagon!

A 36 year old gunman entered the pentagon showing absolutely no emotion on his face and pulled a pistol out on the guards when he was asked for I.

You almost have to wonder if this isn't a new form of suicide, After this and the Ft. Hood incident.
These people must know going in to these situations that they will not make it out alive.

So is this the latest form of suicide sweeping the nation? Lets hope not..

Good times for Americans!

I found this article on CNN.com about rising wages in America today!

This is a good sign when people have money they spend it buying products and services, the more products and services they buy the more demand there is for those products and services thus creating the need for more workers.

The economy is slowly repairing itself and we are beginning to see some good signs of that. Now if we can keep those greedy money hungry fuel companies from killing it again we will be okay.

I may be a simple person but I don't see how a fuel company can say well the reason its getting more expensive is because it costs more to make it!! BS you can't say that and then announce every quarter that you have record breaking profits!

Bad times in Mexico

I found this article on CNN.com about the dangers of visiting Mexico!

The Texas state police are urging colleges and universities to warn their students about the dangers of visiting Mexico during spring break, especially the border towns.

I remember as a small child visiting a border city in Mexico and it didn't seem bad at all we were warned only about pick pockets. Apparently it has become much worse in Juarez alone there were 2600 murders in 2009!

Dell Vs. iPad

I found this article on CNN.com about Dell going after Apple's iPad.

Currently Dell is working on a touch enabled tablet PC. As are many companies since the Apple iPad went public.

This is how new technologies are born. In the spirit of competition. If you think about where we were 5 years ago and then think about how we got from there to here you will find that most technological advances were made by one company trying to out do another.

Gmail Graduations and Funerals

I found this article on CNN.com about the constant changes in the gmail application.

Gmail has always been on the leading edge of internet mail technology since its release in June 2008 and even its beta release in 2006.

Gmail has always done well by instead of thinking of a program researching if customers will like it and then either writing it or not writing it. They think of a program write it make it available for use and let the customers decide which programs they should keep (Graduate) or kill.

Facebook Patent

I found this article on CNN.com about Facebook Patenting their news feed technology.

Basically the patent application for the news feed section of Facebook was approved. And some of the other social media websites have to watch how similar their sites are to Facebook.com.

I find it somewhat scary that you can get a patent on something that several companies already use. I agree that there should be patents however companies who suffer from being the second one in line to the patent office should be grandfathered in.

Steve "Sneaky" Jobs

I found this story on CNN.com about Steve Jobs and the sneaky misleading statements that he makes.

I am not very surprised to hear this as Apple has always been very secretive about their projects. They have somehow managed to get away with very few leaks which is very very uncommon. E.G. Microsoft : every operating system that Microsoft has ever released has been leaked usually a few months before they even tell anyone they are working on it!

Steve Jobs is a Genius! He has always been on the leading edge of technology and he is a brilliant business man.

In the beggining!

The beggining to our story starts in High school sophmore year we spent a week in Florida on a school trip and the heat began to rise. We each had crushes on the other but never really told each other. Finally we graduated in 2001 and didn't really see each other for about 10 years. I had just returned from my tour to Afghanistan and I was living in Kentucky with some friends when I recieved a Facebook request from her wanting to be friends. I was extremely excited, I approved it right away and sent her a message asking how she'd been and what she had been up to. I was very excited to recieve a message back from her. over the next few weeks we talked quite a bit via text and phone and Facebook. One weekend I was headed home for a visit and I decided to ask her to go to the Lazy P Ranch for the weekend but she had other plans in mind. She has a group of friends that go out to eat 1 night a month (they call themselves dinner club). We decided to go to the dinner instead of the Ranch And this was our first date July 25th 2009 I fell head over heals in love with her that night the feelings of old from our high school days resurfaced for both of us. Since then we have only grown closer. I am reminded of a Brad Paisley song called Then. "What I can't say is how I'm ever gonna love you more, But I've said that before. And now you're my whole life now you're my whole world I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl Like a river meets the sea, stronger than it's ever been. We've come so far since that day And I thought I loved you then"
She said yes!

Today I will be blogging about recent events in my life!
In December I had began thinking about proposing to the woman I love whom I have been dating since July of 2009. We were heading to Ft Worth for the NCHA cutting horse Futurity. The night before we left her mother approached me and offered me her mother's Nicole's grandmothers wedding ring, it was a beautiful ring unfortunatly I hadn't yet received permission from her father to ask her. So I put the idea into the back of my head and immediatly began thinking of ideas of how to ask her. But first I still had to ask her father's permission. So we went to lunch one Saturday afternoon and after we finished eating I asked him he said yes on one condition, I had to take the sheep with me when i took her away from home (there is a whole other story there)! Finally I had permission, but how to ask her that was a whole other problem all together. While I thought about it i made up a story about being scared to ask her father because I was "affraid he would ask me how I would take care of his daughter without a job". And I managed to maintain that story up until the moment I proposed to her! So after many ideas one finally stuck with me. The Friday before Valentines day I had sent flowers to Nicole at work which I had told her I wouldn't do because we had already purchased a antique refrigerator as a V-day present to each other. When the flowers arrived she was called to the front of the building to get them, before she left her desk she sent me a G-talk message telling me I was in trouble. By the time that day had come everyone at Leggett and Platt had heard that it was going to happen. While she was headed up to the front one of her co-workers snuck me in to her cubicle. Another one of her co-workers stood in the hallway and announced very loudly that her flowers were very beautiful so that I would know she was coming. Finally the moment was upon me she walked around the corner to find me down on one knee waiting for her. I asked and she just stared at me... and finally it dawned on her duhh speak!! She squeaked out a little yes and the rest as they say is history!!!

Their Watching You!!!

I found this article on foxnews.com about the FBI tracking our movment using our cell phones.

It seems strange to think that someone knws where you are all the time. But thats the price you pay to live in the world of technology in which we live.

It is definatly scary to think that at any point and time someone kows where you are and using that information they can pull up satellite footage and see what you are doing.

So always remember, They are watching you!!

I wondered how long it would take.

I found this article on CNN.com about Facebook pulling profiles create by prisoners.

With all of the creapy people in the world today I have wondered how long it would take before a story like this came around.

Unfortunatly Facebook has done what they can to "Prevent fake profiles" but there is really no way for them to actually know what profiles are fake and which ones arent with the internet as wide open as it is today a person can have several hundred FREE e-mail address. All it takes to sign up for Facebook is an e-mail address and you can enter whatever fake information you want and create an account.

You cant always have the best of both worlds if you want your site to be able to open a Facebook profile instantly it has to be left open to false information.

iPad Autopsy

I found this article on CNN.com about the cost vs. retail price of the iPad.

I read this article and was shocked at how cheap Apple could produce this item. And that they were charging so much for it.

Upon further examination of the cost break down I found that they had not accounted for labor. I also noticed that they didnt mention that while it costs 240.00 to build them the first probably cost somewhere around 2 million to design and build.

That cost of the initial prototype has to be spread out over whatever their projected sales will be so they can recover their cost.

Catch em young!

I found this article on foxnews.com. It is about a boy who at 13 is being looked at as a future football player for USC.

I was shocked mostly to learn that he was over 6 feet tall at the age of 13. Not to mention he is already looking at attending USC.

"I've never seen anyone at his age do what he's been able to do." said his personal coach Steve Clarkson.

It is amazing to see someone so young in national news.

Economy

I came across this story on CNN.com. This is a story about our economy. It is about the growth of the Gross Domestic Product in the later part of 2009.

I was very excited to begin reading this story as our economy has been in such bad shape for such a long time. I was not here for the worst of it I was deployed to Afghanistan but I heard stories from home about high fuel prices and lay offs.

As I read on I grew even moe excited as I read that the word "Recovery" was used by the Federal Reserve.

I am happy to see the economy turning around.

IPAD

I came accross this story on CNN.com about the new Apple iPad. Apple Computers is releasing a new system called the iPad which essentially is an over grown Ipod Touch.

I was very excited about this article as I have been waiting for apple to release a tablet PC. " Extraordinary," "unbelievble," and "a dream says Steve Jobs

I was kind of let down by the fact that it was more like an iPod Touch than a tablet PC I was hoping for more of a graphics editing system.

In conclusion I guess I will wait and see one when they are released!

Arizona

I found this article on CNN.com talking about the weather in Arizona.

I was very shocked to hear about this. When I think of Arizona I think warm climates and really wouldnt expect to hear about snow there.

I feel sad for the people that were stuck in the snow. I hate snow and I can't imagine not being able to go anywhere or get supplies.

Don't eat yellow snow no matter how hungry you are!

U.S. to pull out of Iraq!

United states begins to pull troops from Iraq.
The goal is to withdraw all U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of next year. Most Marines were present in the Anbar province in the western part of the country and have maintained a presence there since 2003. The invading Marines were not very well equipped for the initial invasion as they lacked heavily armored vehicles. The residents of Anbar are eager to see the Marines go however they are demanding that the Iraqi army be given arms and equipment to continue to protect and defend themselves. Nearly 3500 American troops have lost their lives during Operation Iraqi Freedom or OIF.
