I found this article on CNN.com about a group of scientists that are trying to get beams of energy to collide.

It is strange to think about the fact that these people believe there are alternate dimensions.

I sometimes fell like we waste our money on things just to see if it can be done. This seems rather pointless and you would think that the 10 billion could be better spent elsewhere.
